NOW HIRING: Director of Marketing

Cinesaurus is an award-winning creative studio focused on visual storytelling through video production, animation, and virtual reality. The company was founded in 2010 to tell stories that explore new horizons, share bold ideas, and inspire the future. We are located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.

Collectively, our videos have accumulated over 400 million views and millions of shares via Facebook and Twitter. We produce content for a diverse range of clients across tech, science, gaming, sports, and beyond, including Google, Wizards of the Coast, TYR Sport, Deloitte, and many more. And our work has been reported on by The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, NPR, The Huffington Post, and every blog you’ve ever heard of.

Our team is looking to add a full-time Director of Marketing to head up client development and marketing strategies for both client projects and in-house original content. From pitching through launch, the role will involve discovering new clients and audiences, connecting with them, and sustaining those relationships. Coming onboard a small team, the Director of Marketing will play a key role in a growing company with opportunities for leadership.

Responsibilities

DISCOVERY + OUTREACH

  • Head up client development and strategic partnerships
  • Research new revenue streams, digital distribution, and marketing avenues for online content
  • Attend events and conferences for outreach to clients and audience growth

CONNECT + BUILD

  • Develop an overall brand strategy plan for Cinesaurus
  • Design and implement marketing initiatives for audience growth and content releases, such as marketing plans, press materials, and multi-faceted ad and promotional campaigns
  • Work with directors/producers to pitch projects to clients, brands, investors, and distributors
  • Enthusiastically jump into something new and help the team bring any project to life

MANAGE + REFINE

  • Manage social media and community engagement
  • Manage day-to-day communication, project, and account management with a diverse set of clients and internal projects
  • Conduct market research and analytics for client and in-house projects
  • Work with Cinesaurus principals on continued process improvement and innovation

Across all these responsibilities, the time split between client and original projects will start out as:

  • Client Projects | 75%

  • Original Projects | 25%

 

Experience & Personal Qualities

  • Expertise in marketing, advertising, and analytics for creative content and digital media
  • Superior ability to both connect with clients and market to online audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills — particularly for client and project management
  • An instinctual self-starter that sees gaps to fill, constantly looks for new opportunities, and loathes down-time
  • Proficiency in CRM and Sales software, such as Hubspot, Insightly, Salesforce, etc.
  • Background in client management and creative production
  • Collaborative, open mind for giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Detail-oriented to achieve a high-standard of quality
  • Willingness to put in longer hours when projects demand it
  • Desire to work with a small, close-knit team and make a big impact on what the company achieves
  • A network for marketing outlets — Press, PR, advertising — is a plus
  • Just the nicest person 😍
  • An intense passion for being a part of the digital creative process from creative development and pitching through launch
  • Thorough understanding of digital content creation and advertising industries
