The Shootout

THE SHOOTOUT

CREATED FOR MOGA

Game On. Anywhere. When MOGA, a company known for its mobile gaming controllers, announced a big video contest in late 2013–with the grand prize of a RED Scarlet camera package–our interest was piqued. After finding out that it would be judged by some of our favorite YouTubers, including Freddie Wong of RocketJump, Sam and Niko of Corridor Digital, and Ryan Connolly of Film Riot, we were compelled to enter.

The prompt for the 60-sec video was to highlight the pains of mobile gaming. After quickly developing a concept, we decided to shoot the whole thing in our greenscreen studio over one crazy weekend. Running on fumes after days of intense post-production and limited sleep, we submitted our video, only to find out a week later that we had been selected as the Most Creative (Judges’ Pick) winners!

Visual Effects: Before and After

Check out this Before & After look at the video that won us a RED Scarlet camera! As you’ll see, the video was entirely comprised of greenscreen footage, so everything had to be composited to create the environment and competitive atmosphere we were going for.
